Aissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with over 14 years of experience. Her work is rooted in a compassionate, person-centered approach that honors each client’s unique story, strength, and capacity for growth. She integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional resilience.
Aissa works with adults, teens, and children facing anxiety, depression, identity struggles and significant life transitions including divorce, parenthood, and personal rediscovery. She is passionate about empowering women, especially those navigating burnout or major shifts in identity, and is deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ clients.
Aissa’s path into mental health began with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Criminology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. She went on to earn her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Aissa spent 12 years working in a community corrections setting, providing therapy for justice-involved clients. Her clinical work focused on substance abuse recovery, conflict resolution, and overcoming barriers to change. That experience deeply informs her understanding of trauma, resilience, and the power of human connection in the therapeutic process. Now in private practice, Aissa brings the same depth of compassion and perspective to a broader range of clients.
